General Uninstallation Instructions

Uninstalling any product that you were offered by DownloadAdmin will always be easy. Below are the instructions on how to uninstall any of our advertised offers in whatever browser and operating system combination you might be using:

Internet Explorer 9

  1. Open Internet Explorer browser window
  2. Click on the "Tools" icon located in the upper right hand corner of the browser window
  3. Select "Manage add-ons"
  4. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  5. Click on the "Disable" button on the bottom right hand corner of the window

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox browser window
  2. Click on the "Firefox" (Home) tab located on the upper left hand corner of the browser window
  3. Select "Add-ons" option; a new window will appear
  4. Select the "Extensions" tab on the left hand side of the window
  5. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  6. Click on the "Remove" button on the upper right hand corner of the window

Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome browser window
  2. Click on the "Tools" (Wrench) icon located in the upper right hand corner of the browser window
  3. Select "Tools" option and select "Extensions"; a new window will appear
  4. Select the "Extensions" tab on the left hand side of the window
  5. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  6. Click on the "Remove" button on the right hand side of the window

Windows XP

  1. From the "Start Menu" find and select "Control Panel"
  2. Select the "Add or Remove Programs" icon
  3. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  4. Click the "Add/Remove" button
  5. Follow the prompts to finish the uninstall process

Windows Vista

  1. From the "Start Menu" find and select "Control Panel"
  2. Select "Programs" icon and click the "Uninstall a program" link
  3. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  4. Click the "Uninstall/Change" button (or right-click the program and select "Uninstall" option)
  5. Follow the prompts to finish the uninstall process

Windows Vista (Classic View)

  1. From the "Start Menu" find and select "Control Panel"
  2. Select "Programs and Features" icon
  3. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  4. Click the "Uninstall/Change" button (or right-click the program and select "Uninstall" option)
  5. Follow the prompts to finish the uninstall process

Windows 7

  1. From the "Start Menu" find and select "Control Panel"
  2. Select "Programs and Features" icon
  3. Select the program you wish to uninstall
  4. Click on the "Uninstall" button (or right-click the program and select "Uninstall" option)
  5. Follow the prompts to finish the uninstall process

How To Reset Your Default Search Engine & Homepage

Mozilla Firefox

To change your default search engine:

  1. Find your search input field in the upper right hand corner of your browser.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the right of the search engine logo and select a search engine (you can see your current default search engine in bold).
  3. Firefox will remember your choice and use the selected search engine (until you change it again).

To change your homepage in Firefox:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the "Firefox" button (Windows XP users click "Tools" in menu).
  2. Click "Options."
  3. Select the General panel.
  4. In the Startup box, click "Restore to Default."
  5. Click "OK."

Google Chrome

To change your default search engine:

  1. Go to "Settings" and click "Options."
  2. Click "Manage" next to your "Default search engine."
  3. Select your preferred search engine from the list and click "Make Default."

To change your homepage in Google Chrome:

  1. Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select "Options" (OR "Preferences" for Mac and Linux users; "Settings" for Chromebook users).
  3. Click the "Basics" tab.
  4. Select the page you want as your homepage in the "Homepage" section.

Internet Explorer

To change your default search engine:

  1. In the search bar, there is a small arrow to the right of the search icon (magnifying glass).
  2. Click the arrow and select "Manage search engines."
  3. Select the Search Provider that you want to set as default.
  4. Now click "Set as default."

To change your homepage in Internet Explorer:

  1. In Internet Explorer, navigate to the page that you want to make your home page.
  2. Right-click the Home icon on the Internet Explorer 9 toolbar.
  3. Select "Add" or "Change Home Page."
  4. Select either "Use this webpage as your only home page," or "Add this webpage to your home page tabs."
  5. Click "Yes" to save changes.

Google Chrome Browser

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox’s user.js file must be cleared before Firefox’s about:config editor can be used to change Firefox’s home page, or search engine. Alternatively, ResetBrowsers.exe can be used to reset Firefox’s home page, and search engine to Firefox’s default settings. If found, ResetBrowsers.exe will also reset the home page and search engine for Internet Explorer, and Chrome to their respective default settings.
