What is it?

The Tucows Downloads affiliate program is designed to allow you to earn money by supplying downloads on your site that are related to the content of your pages. You'll instantly make your pages more valuable and generate income at the same time! For an example of how Tucows Downloads downloads might look on your site, see the example to the right.

How does it work?

The program is as easy as pasting a block of HTML code onto your pages. Our Javascript will automatically determine relevant downloads to your pages. Of course, for more technically advanced users the possibilities for displaying targetted downloads on your site are endless. For more information, please see the Javascript API documentation.

How do I get paid?

You get paid based on the number of the users that click the download links hosted on your site. The amount that you get paid depends on several factors including how much adverstisers are currently paying to be listed on your site and whether or not you also participate in Tucows Downloads Mirror program. Your commision will be much higher if you maintain an active Tucows Downloads Mirror.

When do I get paid?

You will get paid at the beginning of every quarter (January, April, July, October) by check after you earn at least $100 in revenue. If you have not earned at least $100 in revenue for a quarter, your payment will be deferred until the first quarter after you meet the $100 minimum for payout. Those in the US will also have to supply us with a Tax ID before payment is issued. For more information, please contact developer@tucows.com.

What is a Tucows Downloads Mirror?

By becoming a Tucows Downloads Mirror, you agree to host a portion of one or more of the Tucows Downloads libraries on your server and to make the mirrored files available to the public for download. In order to be considered active, your mirror must be fully updated at least twice per week. To set up a mirror you'll first need to download approximately 10-30Gb depending on the library and approximately 300-500Mb per day in updates. The great thing is that the Tucopy mirror client will completely automate this task for you from start to finish.

How do I become a Tucows Downloads Mirror?

Becoming a Tucows Downloads Mirror is easy. You'll need 20-40Gb of available drive space depending on the library and access to change DNS for your domain.
