Resco Explorer for Palm and Pocket PC

by Stacy Reed

Resco Explorer is a powerful file management utility for your Pocket PC or Palm device. It's an essential piece of software, especially if you have a lot of files on a storage card because it makes file operations such as copying, moving, deleting, and renaming incredibly easy. Users have the ability to drag and drop, copy and paste, delete, search, sort and filter their PDA files. Users can select multiple files at once, create new folders, and repair associations as well.

No, the goodies don't stop there. Resco Explorer can also compress and decompress zipped archives that can be encrypted with a user-defined password. It's also an image viewer, providing a full-screen preview of JPG, BMP, and GIF images - which makes it an excellent tool for Smartphones with cameras. What's more, images can be previewed while they are within zipped archives.

Resco Explorer also lets you beam, hotsync, and edit text files either with the built-in memo pad or the hex editor. The hex editor enables previews of selected files in different modes: image, hex, text and database. The program also offers a backup feature that requires less card space than most of it's competitors. With all of this functionality, I don't know where I would be without it. That's why Resco Explorer wins the Editor's Choice Award!
