Genius Family Tree, by Genius Solutionsis a slick program for handling your family tree and all its branches. Ifound the program to be very easy-to-use and it has an intuitive userinterface. I particularly liked it because it's visual in nature andlets you see things easily. In fiddling with it I found I couldsee four generations at one time, which was more than enough for me.

Genius Family Tree makes it really easy to enter the informationon all of your relatives, past and present. Once you get information inthe program you can print a variety of handy reports. At the sametime you can even have the program create cool Web pages for you. Nowthat's slick! I found that the program can hold a huge amount of familyinformation, as much as 15,000 people. Not that many in my family, butif you have a large family you still don't have to worry about runningout of space in Genius Family Tree.
I learned quite a bit in doing this roundup and one thing that I learnedis that there's a genealogy standard called GEDCOM. What's reallynice about that is that Genius Family Tree supports this standardso you can import and export family data. A great way to get yourselfstarted. The program is loaded with features including the ability tomakes notes about each person in your listing. That means you can putlittle personal tid-bits in that others can read and appreciate. I likeGenius Family Tree so much that it's not only a Pick, butI'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite! Those are few and far between. So, if you're getting interestedin genealogy this is a program you want to try. I recommend it!
