CalliGrapher 8.5 by PhatWare Corporation
by Michael E. Callahan aka Dr. File Finder

One thing I like about CalliGrapher is that it lets me writewithin any application. You can change the width of the pen, change thecolor of the ink, and so on. If you prefer you can also use the WritePad which turns your handwritting into text as you write. Slick. Ialso like the fact that CalliGrapher has a built-in spell checkerso my text is always accurate. There's also support for multiplelanguages including French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Belgium, andmany more.
I really like using CalliGrapher because it has so many excellentfeatures like autocomplete, statistics, the ability to edit thevocabulary, and great tutorials. The program is quick and easy-to-usewhether you use a keyboard, print, or write. The Quick Correctwindow corrects your writing as you write. The program also includesPenCommander which allows you to execute commands by writingwords. Watch for a review of that in two weeks.
CalliGrapher is one of those programs that you learn to love andthen you don't want to be without it. I like it so much that it's notonly a Pick, but I'm also making it a Dr. FileFinder Favorite and those are few and far between. So, if youhave a Windows device that has a touch screen take the time to try outCalliGrapher. It's well worth your time. I give it my highestrecommendation - check it out!
Note: Since by definition "smartphones" are phones that are alsoPDA's, the software reviewed here should work with personal digitalassistants that are not "smartphones". Check the operating systembecause we'll be reviewing software for both Pocket PC and Palm devices.-- Editor
