Greetings and Welcome! I'm so glad youcould stop by to check out my Picks for this week. The weather has beenso nice that's it's been hard working in my "cave", but I've managed toget by. An occasional stroll out in the woods with my dog, Penny, givesme a dose of the outdoors to tide me over. This week I've got anotherbatch of programs to tell you about. I hope you'll enjoy reading aboutthem as much as I enjoyed testing them out. So, if you're ready, justsit back, relax, and lets take a look.
- Save Flash

Save Flash, by Pilot Group Ltd.is a cool tool that lets you save Flash animations that you find aroundthe Web. The program will show you a preview of the Flash animation andwill also tell you the size. When you save to hard disk it also keepsthe URL (Universal Resource Locator) where you obtained it.
SaveFlash is very easy-to-use and has an intuitive userinterface. To me that makes it perfect for users with all levels ofexperience. It's a great way to save Flash games, Flash images andbanners, and lots more. It's a great way to save and catalog the coolFlash animations that you see as your surf. Check it out.
- Recomposit
- Version: 1.7
- System Requirements: Windows 2000/2003/XP
- Get more info
- Download RecompositNOW!

Recomposit, by stepok.com isan interesting tool for working with photos. In testing it out here Ihad fun using the program and found it to be easy-to-use. The programhelps you recomposit pictures. It's cool the way it canseparate an image from its background. Everyone knows that I'm"graphically challenged", but even I could do it with the help ofRecomposit.

The screen shot gives you a good idea of what the program can do. What'sreally cool is the way it lifts an image from the background.Over the years I've looked at lots of programs that work withphotos, but I've never seen a program that can do this. I really likedthe tutorial that comes with the program. It makes it much easier tounderstand what to do. There's a couple of tutorials, one onbluescreen techniques and one on inside/outside matting. Reallyvery informative. If you're into photography this is a program you haveto try for yourself. Check it out and see what you think.
- Live TV
- Version: 4.5.135
- System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP/Vista

- Download Live TVNOW!

Live TV, by Live Tv Softwareis a program I decided to look at just because I was curious. Now, Ican't say if the content was live, but it was pretty neat. Therewere TV shows like Becker, Beverly Hills 90210, Dirt, and many more. There were movies like Electric Dreams, Moulin Rouge, and Anne of GreenGables, which is shown in the screen shot below.

On top of that the program has just a ton of other features most ofwhich have nothing to do with TV. For example, it has an emailnotification function that tells you when you get email and from where.I used it with my POP accounts and with GMail and it worked great. Then there's the radio which came in great on my machine and soundedlike a regular radio station. In testing it out the number of functionswas almost overwhelming. It cleans up all your Internet "tracks", givesyou access to an online dictionary, scans for viruses, blocks pop-ups,and still more.
Live TV Toolbar fits neatly into a single toolbar. What kind ofsurprised me is that you can configure what content isavailable. If you don't want something in there, remove it. Oh yes, youcan do translations with it, read RSS news feeds, an a ton more. I'mgoing to leave it in my computer and I'll report back in a few weeks. Atthis point, Live TV Toolbar seems to be just what it claims tobe. Sound interesting? Then check it out for yourself.
