ACDSee 9 Photo Manager, by ACD Systemsis the perfect product for home users to work with and organizer theirphotos. I liked the way it let me organize my photos. You can assignthem to categories like Family, Vacation 2005, Conference, and so on. Inaddition, you can assign keywords to photos and that makes it mucheasier to find the pictures you want. ACDSee 9 Photo Manager isloaded with fun features that give your photos more pizazz.

If you like you can create a slideshow of your photos. I did thatwith our pictures from our 2002 trip to Ireland and it came out great. Iwas able to add some Irish music as a background and pick from a varietyof transition effects. The program has a full range of features thathelp you to improve your photos. Fix "red eye", improve exposures, alterthe colors, and lots more. ACDSee 9 Photo Manager is a solidproduct for anyone who want to have fun with their photos. Check it out.

PicaJet Photo Organizer, by PicaJet.Com is another slick program for working with your pictures. Like many otherphoto and image applications it gives you a large range of tools forimproving and enhancing your photos. Hmm, I wonder why no one does aprogram to teach us to take better pictures. Oh well. You can sharpen, rotate, crop, and remove 'red eye' from pictures. You can also usefilters to bring out your creative side.

PicaJet Photo Organizer has an intuitive user interface thatmakes it easy-to-use, perfect for users with all levels of experience. You can create slideshows, organize all you photos, assign keywords, tags, and more. There's also a feature designed to make it easier tosend photos by email. From categories, to search, to backup PicaJetPhoto Organizer has it all. Give it a try and see what you think.

IDimager Professional Image Manager, by idFOX Holding BV is a program Iincluded for those who really have to work with a lot of images. It's a really powerful program for working with digital images andphotos. You can use it to organize your photos, edit them, even emailthem to friends and family. It can bring in photos from digital cameras, display slide shows, and even put your images up on the Web. I found theprogram to be very easy-to-use with an intuitive user interface. To methat makes it perfect for users with all levels of experience. Theprogram comes in a "Personal" version as well, for those whose needsaren't as complex.

IDimager Professional Image Manager helps you to downloadyour images onto your computer and categorize them at the same time.Really very slick. In working with it I could see that this is a programa professional could use to organize photos. You can add descriptions, put images in other folders, and lots more. The program even supportsdownload scripts that can quickly process large numbers of folders in avariety of ways. If you're really into images and photos, or do itprofessionally, this may be just what you need to get all your images inshape. Check it out!

Centico Photo Album, by Centico Ltd.is another program for working with photos that has some uniquefeatures. The one that I thought was very cool is called theShoebox. Makes perfect sense if you think about it. Say you have300 pictures you took while on a vacation. You want to create an album, but you don't want it to have all 300 pictures. Plus, some of thepictures aren't as good or they're duplicates. So, you put the photosyou really want in the album and the rest of the pictures can goin the Shoebox, which is attached. Very clever idea.

Centico Photo Album has a nice, clean, intuitive user interface. It's also amazingly easy-to-use. Here again the program has a full rangeof tools you can use to perk up or fix your photos. Remove "red eye",crop, rotate, adjust colors, brightness, and more. This is an excellentprogram for anyone who is really into creating albums of theirphotos. Hey, you can even have the program put your albums in HTMLformat so you can display your albums on the Web. Very nicely done.

Zoner Photo Studio, by ZONER softwareis another powerful program for working with photos. The program isfull-featured and it seems they've thought of everything. First of allit has support for a full range of digital cameras. You can even scanphotos right into the program. Additionally, it has a really completeset of tools for enhancing your photos. I like the interface and theprogram is easy-to-use as well. You can add descriptions, but you canalso add audio if you like. That's right, you can put in "audio notes"so you can remember little things about your pictures.

With Zoner Photo Studio you can utilize all kinds of effects thatwill really spice up your photo collection. So, the program takes youfrom bringing photos in to enhancing them in a variety of ways. It evenlets you enhance photos in "batches" which makes the entire process mucheasier and much faster. Zoner Photo Studio also makes it a snapto put your albums up on the Web to share with friends and family.Saving the best for last, Zoner has a feature I haven't seen in anyother photo manager. GPS support. Yep, it pulls in the information andyou can utilize it in conjunction with online maps. So, check it out foryourself. I recommend it.

Once again we've come to the end of our time for today. I hope youenjoyed this roundup of photo and image programs. While many tend tohave some similar features each also has some unique ones. In workingwith all of them you'd have to pick the one that has the featuresyou like best. Slideshows, GPS, shoeboxes, the choice is yours.I'll be back next week with more software to tell you about. I hopeyou'll join me. Till then, have a great week, a wonderful weekend, andhappy downloading.
