Link Commander, by Resort Labs
is a cool utility for really getting a handle on all your bookmarks.
Personally I have very few bookmarks, but my wife has hundreds so
Link Commander caught my eye. I was impressed with how
easy-to-use the program is, perfect for users with all levels of
experience.
The user interface is also quite intuitive and I always like that. You
can import your bookmarks and then arrange them in a manner that makes
sense to you. One really cool feature is the ability to password protect
folders within the program. That way no one else can access your private
bookmarks. I also really like the fact that you can share you
bookmark files with family and friends. Link Commander is
not browser specific or dependent so you can use it with any
browser. In testing it out I used it with Firefox, Opera, and Internet
Explorer and it worked perfectly with each of them. If you have lots of
bookmarks you'll like the fact that you can easily search your
collection in Link Commander.
Another cool feature of Link Commander is the fact that it actually monitors the Windows clipboard. Why is that cool? Well, because when you copy a URl into the clipboard Link Commander knows about it and responds. If you're looking for a way to manager all your bookmarks, organize them, use them with multiple browsers, and share your bookmarks with others, this may be the solution you've been looking for. Give it a try, I recommend it.

FileStream TurboBrowser, by FileStream
is a powerful utility for managing all of your files. This program has
has constantly improved over the years and it's become a real power
house. The program has lots of features that lend it to dealing with
digital photos. One of these is called the "Digital Darkroom".
Here you can do all kind of quick fixes to your photos like adjust
color, remove red-eye, and lots more. What I liked about this function
was that it made it easy to quickly fix up a photo without having to
load a "paint" program or some other software. You can see a problem in
a photo and go in and fix it on the spot. In testing it out I used it on
some of our pictures from out trip to Ireland and it worked perfectly.
Another great feature in Turbo Browser is the ability to do
things in batches. That is a powerful feature because many
similar programs don't have it. You can rename files, resize files,
print files, and lots more in batches large or small. That's an amazing
feature to have, trust me. Ahh, but don't think that you have to use
FileStream Turbo Browser just with photos because it's a
full-featured file manager. You can also use it to manager all of your
documents including Word, Excel, PDF, and even PowerPoint. Here again
the program makes it easy to manage all your files. You can use
FileStream TurboBrowser to organize documents, print them, and even
tag your favorites. In testing it out I found this to be a really
powerful feature because I could "flag" the files I used most. Slick.
Speaking of documents you can view a huge number of file formats in FileStream TurboBrowser. If this was all you got it would be worth the price of registration, but there's more. (Hmm, that sounds like an infomercial.) This product has lots of extra features. With Turbo Browser you can upload files to your Web site from within the program. How many file managers let you do that? Not many. Oh, and if you see a mistake in a file you can also edit it within the the program. Fix up your text, your HTML, and be on your way. How about burning a CD or DVD of your photos or documents? Yep, FileStream Turbo Browser can do that as well.
FileStream Turbo Browser is a powerful, full-featured file manager in every sense of the word. It's easy-to-use and intuitive, perfect for both new and experienced users. It has features that similar products don't have that make it stand out from the rest. I like it so much that it's not only a Pick, but I'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite and in 25 years of looking at software there haven't been many of those. So, if you want to manage your photos, music, and documents with power and ease, give FileStream Turbo Browser a try. I recommend it!

Folder Snap, by Helience is
a program that helps you to find information that you've stored on
removable media. So, for example, say you've put all kinds of documents
on CDs for storage. You also want to be able to find a document
when you need it. That's where Folder Snap comes in. Using the
program you can take a snapshot of each disk which shows you the
contents. Say you do that for 100 discs.
Now, you
simply create a master archive that holds all of your snaps and you're
ready and able to find any file you need. The program makes it really
easy to do snaps because it puts options in the context or right-click
menu. The screen shot shows a snap of my download directory with
some of the files that are currently in it. In testing it out I did
snapshots of the My Documents folder and did each individual folder it
contains. I was impress with how I could type in even part of a word and
Folder Snap would pull up the snap that contained that word.
Really slick. Another cool feature is the ability to compare
snaps of folders. That means I could take snapshots of my download
directory over time and then find out what has changed. Cool.
From working with it I can see that Folder Snap is a powerful tool for working with data you have stored. Catalog CDs, DVDs, even directories on your hard drive and then you can quickly find the files you need. When you find what you're looking for you can use the program to sort things based on name, size, file type, or date. I liked the fact the program gives you the flexibility to do things the way you want to do it. Folder Snap is a really interesting and unique program that's going to stay on my desktop while I play with it some more. So, if you want to have an easy way to find documents and files on removable media, take a good look at Folder Snap. I recommend it.

Glary Utilities, by Glarysoft, Inc. is an
impressive grouping of utilities that you can get for free. This
suite of programs cleans, repairs, optimizes, and quite a bit more. In
testing it out I used just about every feature. In doing things like
cleaning junk files or the Registry the program was impressively fast on
my machine. I also really liked the "Context Menu Manager" that
let me remove some pesky entries from the context, or right-click, menu.
It has a
function for removing programs that automatically start with Windows, a
memory optimizer, and even a file shredder. In addition,
Glary Utilities also has a function that lets you encrypt and
decrypt data. That's a powerful addition to your arsenal. You can manage
add-ons for Internet Explorer, find folders that are empty, locate
duplicate files, and even split and join files. This is a neat option
that I fiddle with for quite awhile. It makes it easy to take large
files and cut them into smaller, more manageable pieces. This is great
for putting large files on multiple discs. I actually used it to put the
hard drive of one of my virtual machines onto 4 DVDs. Later I
used the join function to put the files back together. Slick!
The Glary Utilities also have an unistall manger that help you to uninstall software you want to remove. The Disk Analysis function looks at a drive and breaks down how much space is used by directories and files. I also really liked the clever section called System Tools. It's the first time I've seen such a product that provides instant access to tools that come with Windows. This includes things like defragment, System Restore, CHKDSK, and Backup. Really kind of handy so you don't have to go searching for these in your Programs group.
The Glary Utilities are extremely easy-to-use and are perfect for users with all levels of experience. It's a great way to clean up your machine and keep it running smoothly. Give it a try, I think you'll like it.
