Note: Since by definition "smartphones" are phones that are also PDA's, the software reviewed here should work with personal digital assistants that are not "smartphones". Check the operating system because we'll be reviewing software for both Pocket PC and Palm devices. -- Editor

SplashPhoto is a really cool application for your smartphone if you want to show off your photos. When I first got my Blackberry 8830 I put in a 2 gigabyte miniSD card so I could carry data with me. Some of the data I wanted to carry was pictures of my family. Can't go around without pictures of the grandchildren. So, I started looking for something that would work with my Blackberry. SplashPhoto not only works with Blackberry, but also with Palm, Windows Mobile, and Symbian devices! Slick. I like the program because it lets me manage all of the photos I placed on my Blackberry. You can pick from a number of views so you can see a list, small or large thumbnails, or a detailed list. The detailed list is nice because it shows you information about each picture. You can see the file size, the date it was taken, and so on. For quickly checking my pictures, however, I preferred the small thumbnail view. SplashPhoto makes it really easy to show my photos to friends and family. There's a slideshow mode and you can set the defaults to suit you. That way you can set up your photos and just let the slideshow run. Another cool feature is the ability to quickly send a photo by email. All you do is select the photo, click the menu option, enter the email address and subject, and send. Really nice for quickly sharing photos with others. SplashPhoto is easy-to-use and intuitive, perfect for users with all levels of experience. The program is fast, efficient, and makes it really easy to manage, categorize, and display photos on your smartphone. Don't forget that there are versions for Blackberry, Palm, Windows Mobile, and Symbian devices. I like the program so well that it's not only a Pick, but I'm also making it one of my Dr. File Finder's Favorites and there aren't very many of those. Take the time to try it out for yourself, I recommend it.

If you have software you use on your "smartphone" or PDA, come and talk about it with us in the Forums. We look forward to seeing you there.
