Print2PDF, by Software602, Inc. is a handy program for converting documents into the popular PDF format. In testing it out I found it to be very easy-to-use and intuitive, perfect for users with all levels of experience. Print2PDF gives the power to create PDF files to any program that can send data to the printer. For this reason it can handle a wide range of file formats including DOC, TXT, HTML, XLS, and many more. One cool feature is that you can combine input from multiple files and then output it as one file. That's a great way to include things from a number of files into one, complete PDF. Another feature I really like is the ability to batch convert. That means you can eliminate converting documents one at a time and get a whole bunch done in one operation. I tested this feature out and it was really very fast. Nicely done. Print2PDF as a number of features you don't usually see in similar products. Like the ability to digitally sign your documents. Another cool feature is the ability to encrypt your PDF files which means they'll be really secure. Hey, and you can even merge documents. Over the last few years I've tested a good number of PDF-related programs and this is one of the best I've seen. So, it's not only a Pick, but I'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite and in over 25 years of reviewing software I haven't got many of those. So, if you're looking for a really full-featured program for working with PDF files, this is your solution. Check it out, I recommend it.

Internet Download Manager 5.11.5, by Tonec Inc. is a handy utility that you can use whenever you download files. I thought I'd looked at all such utilities, but I found this not long ago. Since I look at over 200 software programs every week it's no stretch for me to have plenty of files to download. Internet Download Manager lets you schedule downloads so they take place when you want. In testing out the program I found it to be both intuitive and easy-to-use, perfect for users with all levels of experience. Another cool feature is the ability to resume downloads that were interrupted for any reason. That's handy in case you get disconnected, your computer locks up, or whatever. Internet Download Manager supports a large number of Web browsers including Firefox, Internet Explorer, Avant Browser, Opera, and many more. It also supports drag and drop so you can start downloads with just a couple swipes of the mouse. Slick. Internet Download Manager increases the speed of downloads by downloading files in multiple parts. This works really well and is essentially transparent. The program is loaded with cool features and can grab files off your favorite sites and then shut down your computer. Very versatile. So, if you've been looking for something to maximize your downloads, this may be your solution.

Magic Gallery 5.0.60, by Raizlabs is a really nice product for working with photos and getting them on your Web site. I like the fact that it uses a "wizard" to make the process easy. In testing it out I found the program to be very easy-to-use, perfect for both new and experienced users. I was impressed with how fast it could take a folder full of photos and get them ready to be uploaded to my Web site. Magic Gallery has built-in FTP so it can handle the entire process without any other tools. It comes with some cool templates and an editor so you can customize each photo gallery you create. I've tested a number of similar products and Magic Gallery is one of the best ones I've seen. I really like the ease-of-use. It whipped through an entire folder of photos, created thumbnails, generated Web pages, and I was ready to upload in a matter of minutes. It also supports a variety of file formats including JPG, BMP, TIF, GIF, and more. You can also add a watermark to your photos to make them easily identifiable. Magic Gallery is simply loaded with cool features including the ability to generate PDF galleries, email photos from your Web pages, support for ShutterFly, and more. If you're into photos and you'd like an easy way to put them online this may be exactly what you need. Give it a try, I recommend it.

AMC Graphic Workshop Pro 3.0a.25, by Alchemy Mindworks Inc. is a graphics program that's been around a long time. If memory serves I first reviewed it when it was a DOS-based program years ago. Over the years it's gotten better and better. This is a complete package for anyone that wants to work with graphics images and photos. I don't have space to talk about all of the many features, but I'll try to hit a few high points. Despite all the features found in the program it's still very easy-to-use and intuitive and it comes with great help. This is perfect for users with all levels of experience. AMC Graphic Workshop Pro has support for a huge number of graphics file formats including GIF, JPG, EPS, ICO, TIFF, AVI, and many, many more. You can use the program to enhance your photos, create icons or wallpaper, batch convert images into another format, and print your images. It was fun for me to test the program because it's been a few years since I last looked at it. You can pick from a nice selection of filters to alter how images look and you can also create thumbnails and albums to put your photos online. Speaking of display you can also view your pictures in a slideshow if you like. I also like the fact that AMC Graphic Workshop Pro can find images on your PC or bring them in from a camera. I also tested it out with a scanner and it work perfectly. AMC Graphic Workshop Pro is one of those programs that's only gotten better with age. I like it so much that it's not only a Pick, but I'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite and there aren't very many of those. So, if you like to work with images, take a good look at AMC Graphic Workshop Pro - I recommend it.
