Note: Since by definition "smartphones" are phones that are also PDA's, the software reviewed here should work with personal digital assistants that are not "smartphones". Check the operating system because we'll be reviewing software for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Palm, and BlackBerry devices. -- Editor

I believe in working hard, but at the same time when I'm done working I'm done! That's why I was really glad to find a slick program for BlackBerry called Antair BlackBerry Call Screener. What I like about it is that it quick and easy-to-use, perfect for users with all levels of experience. Setting it up was quick and easy and it does an amazing job. As the name implies the program screens calls coming into your BlackBerry device. In testing it out I tried a number of screening options. For example, you can tell the program to block every incoming call. Another option is to block only those who aren't in your contacts or only calls from unknown numbers. The cool thing is that you can create profiles so you can quickly switch between them. For example, I turned on a profile to block all calls while I was getting a haircut, then toggled over to a profile that would block all unknown numbers. I found that you can also block specific phone numbers, or area codes. In testing it out I blocked my office phone and then called my BlackBerry from that phone. Antair BlackBerry Call Screener worked perfectly and blocked my call. Slick. I also found out that when the program blocks a call it sends it directly to your voice mail. In this way you aren't bothered by any call that you don't want to receive or respond to. The program keeps a log of all calls that were blocked. If you wish you can call back or you can remove the entries, which are also stored in the internal BlackBerry call log. Antair BlackBerry Call Screener does an amazing job and I think it's a "must have" for anyone who works hard and doesn't want to be disturbed by phone calls. I like it so much that I'm making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite and those are few and far between. So, if you'd like to maintain your "quiet time" check it out for yourself. I recommend it!

If you have software you use on your "smartphone" or PDA, come and talk about it with us in the Forums. We look forward to seeing you there.
