|Full Convert provides powerful and comfortable way to convert data of many databases.|
Full Convert Enterprise is a powerful, but easy-to-use professional database converter. If you need to convert your database to another format, this is the way to go.
It supports many databases as source, and currently five formats as target. Tables are converted with columns mapped to closest datatype available in the target database, column defaults are converted where possible, and indexes and foreign key constraints support multi-column definitions. Data is transfered first, and unique indexes and constraints are applied after, which ensures that no data will be lost in conversion due to nonconsistent source database definition.
Supported source databases:
- Microsoft Access
- Microsoft Excel documents
- Lotus 1-2-3
- ODBC sources
- SQL Server
- Delimited text files
- SQL Server
Supported target databases
If your source database isn't listed, you can use ODBC to connect to your database, so the list is actually much larger.
Full Convert uses native database access wherever possible to obtain top speed and reliability. Data transfer speed varies greatly depending on the database used, but we have achieved over 10,000 records per second on a standard desktop machine with large databases. Our users regularly convert multi-million records databases using our software.
Converting a database using Full Convert is a very intuitive process:
- Define source database connection
- Define target database connection
- Select tables to convert
Our Session Wizard walks you through required steps. All sessions can be saved (they are encrypted), so for the next conversion you don't have to specify anything. Just open the session file and click 'Convert!'. This makes repeating conversion a breeze. If you look for a way to automatize conversion, Full Convert supports command line batching, and the upcoming 2.0 version will feature built-in scheduler.
Upon connecting to databases in question, you can immediately run the conversion, or navigate through your target database. Its objects are visible in a hierarchical tree, and you can even perform advanced modifications to the database on several objects at once! Drop tables and columns, rename, and change column type are the simple ones. But some, like extract columns to another table, create reference column, merge tables etc. are unique to Full Convert. And the best thing is that you can record such actions. This enables you to perform modifications on converted database once, and have it rerun by Full Convert on each conversion.
