  • Easy Thumbnails, by Fookes Software, is a really cool little utility for creating thumbnails. I also want to mention that beyond doing a great job at what it does, it's also FREE! The program can work with a wide range of graphics file formats, including TIFF and JPG. I've talked about the fact that I'm "graphically challenged" so a program like Easy Thumbnails is perfect for me. Why? Because it makes the task of creating thumbnails really easy! And, it gives me lots of options, and I like having lots of options. For example, you can take an image and fine tune it by changing things like brightness and contrast. You can also adjust the sharpness of an image or rotate it into a different position. The program has a nifty viewer built right in, so you can see your changes as you make them. Very slick! I also liked the fact that it was extrememly fast in creating the thumbnails. Impressive!

Easy Thumbnails has an intuitive interface, so it's great for both new and experienced users. It's easy-to-use, but it also has some advanced features. For example, when creating your thumbnails you can pick from nine (9) different methods, including Lanczos3 -- which is very popular with professionals. Another very cool feature is that you don't have to do just one thumbnail at a time. With Easy Thumbnails you can find your images and then process them in batches. I even used it to convert entire folders of pictures from our Ireland trip into wonderful thumbnails! Very fast and easy-to-do. Another very cool feature is that you can have the program append a suffix or add a prefix to each of the thumbnails it creates. So, for example, with my Ireland pictures, I had it append a suffix based on the roll of film the pictures came from. That helped me to keep track of not only what roll the pictures came from, but what area of Ireland. And, if you want, you can even put your thumbnails into a nifty HTML template that comes with the program. Then you can edit the HTML and create your own, customized pages. Very nicely done!

Easy Thumbnails, by Fookes Software, is a beautifully done program that's absolutely free! It makes working with graphics images and turning them into thumbnails so easy that anyone can do it. The interface is intuitive and the program is very easy-to-use. It also comes with some really good tips and tricks right in the online help. I like it so much it not just a Pick, but it's also a Dr. File Finder Favorite and those are few and far between. So, if you're looking for a really solid program for creating thumbnails from your graphics, look no further! You won't find a better product than this! And, on top of everything else, it's free. Check it out!
