Indeed - Job Searching Web 2.0 Style
Are you stuck in a dead-end job? Unemployed? Looking for a new and exciting career? Finding a new job can be an arduous task, so you simply can't afford to miss this helpful Web service. Indeed is a search engine for jobs that gives job-seekers free access to millions of employment opportunities. Indeed searches jobs listed on newspaper sites, job boards and niche sites continuously then offers links to the information in one centralized location, saving you the hassle of searching multiple sites and scanning newspaper classifieds for the job of your dreams.
Simply type in the keyword(s) describing the kind of job you are looking for and enter your city, state or zip code then sit back and let Indeed do the rest. They'll return all of the job listings that have been posted within a 25 mile radius of your location. You have the ability to save your searches as MyYahoo content or as an RSS feed. Indeed can even notify you via e-mail when new jobs matching your search criteria have been added to the database. That's a really cool and helpful feature!
This is a free service with substantial benefits to job-hunters, however, they do not get involved with the actual application and hiring process for any of the listings on their site. You will be solely responsible for creating and sending out your own resume. On the flip-side, if you are an employer looking to hire, you can contact Indeed and let them know about your job openings free of charge. It's a win-win!
