Today Google released a free beta Web calendar service that allows users to keep track of their schedule and events then share them with others if they choose. In true Google fashion, the calendars are searchable and the interface is clean, intuitive and easy to navigate. The site's users have the choice of making the events in their calendar public or keeping them private. The calendar also features drag and drop functionality and the ability to integrate multiple calendars, for instance, events from a friends calendar can be added to your own, or you can choose to bring in any number of holiday calendars from different countries all over the world. Users of Gmail, Google's free email service, will find it very useful because the calendar service is programmed to scour the users emails looking for events and then offers the user the option of adding it to thier calendar.
The site has a lot of functionality, allowing users to create and customize multiple calendars, view an Agenda list, delete events, add descriptions, and did I mention the search feature. I'm hooked. Look out, 30Boxes and Yahoo Calendar! Oh, and Google, one request... can you make this synch with Palm Desktop? Pretty Please?
