FlexMail 2006, by WebInformation Services is a powerful email client for your PocketPC/Windows Mobile smartphone or PDA. This impressive program can handlePOP3 and IMAP, while also handling SMS, HTML, and even Google's Gmail. The program is simply loaded with features including support for SSL andSOCKS proxies. It can even handle different authentications for outgoingand incoming email. The ability to handle SSL, SOCKS, and differentauthentications were things I didn't find in other email products forthe Pocket PC. Since it can handle multiple accounts I set it up to handle all of mymain email accounts. You can set general parameters for handling email, position your email accounts in the order you want them, and much more. That's another thing that impressed me about FlexMail 2006 - itgives you lots of configurable options. That means you can use itthe way you want. I liked the fact that the program even lets you alterthe "view" so I could put it in a 3-pane view that I'm used to. Slick.

FlexMail 2006 has a built-in spell checker, which I find veryuseful when doing emails on a pocket device. It also lets you put in acomplete "signature" and have a different one for each account you haveset up. You can setup the program to synchronize all your email by size, age, and more. I have it download message headers. Then, if there areemails I want to see completely, I just select "Mark For Download" andon the next pass those messages will be downloaded for me. Very nicelydone.

When I got my XV6700 "smartphone" I looked at lots of emailprograms. None of them would do all the things I wanted except forFlexMail 2006. It's powerful, full-featured, and easy-to-use.It's offers so many configurable options that I can't even talk aboutall of them here. What I can say is that if you are looking foran email program for your Pocket PC, this is the program to get.I give it my highest recommendation.

If you have software you use on your "smartphone" or PDA, come and talkabout it with us in the Forums. We look forward to seeing you there.
