Project Specialist

The Project Associate/Specialist is responsible for the planning, resourcing, and overseeing of all IS project activities - managing finances, risk, and delivery. You will work with the Leadership Team and business clients (Customer Service, Finance, Engineering, etc.)  to ensure that the overall project management plan, financials, and the change management process are managed. The Project Associate/Specialist is also accountable for identifying and mitigating project (financial and operational) risks, delivering the projects on time, and within capital and expense budgets. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsibility and ownership for all IS projects at Tucows
  • Schedule Management – Ensures that project timelines are established and published and assists with the determination of a project scope that is scheduled in manageable components
  • Financial Management – oversees the forecasting, budget tracking, analysis and communications assessed, documented and managed through to completion
  • Risk Management – communications, mitigation and tracking of overall project risk
  • Status and Communication Management – accountable to create project status and communication materials for executive review
  • Change Management – accountable for the efficient and timely management of the Change Management process – ensures all project change requests are well understood, tracked and
  • Works closely with the business stakeholders and the IS Team to mitigate project risk and maintain momentum
  • Responsible for monitoring the IS technology space and maintaining a vendor portfolio to aid in delivering best in class service solutions

The skills you will bring:

  • 5-10 years of progressive customer service/solutions delivery experience
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Significant technical experience in telecommunications systems development
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Team player and ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects
  • Strong Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Excellent synthesis and analysis capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-platform solutions
  • College certificate or University degree in business administration, information technology or related disciplines
