It includes an integrated Web server called Medusa, a transaction-based object database, a search engine, a Web page template system and a through-the-Web development and management tool.
The program can also be used with multiple Web servers including Apache, Netscape FastTrack Server and IIS. A separate package, Zap, is available to ease Zope and Apache integration by setting up the configuration for you.
Reusable modules are available to get a site up and running in a matter of minutes. There are many of these products available, some made by Digital Creations, the Zope authors, and others by open source developers that are making their own. Some modules include Squishdot, a news-publishing and discussion site, and Confera, a Web-based discussion platform.
