SecureCRT supports SSH1, SSH2, Telnet, Telnet/SSL, RLogin, Serial, and TAPI protocols and authentication via password, public-key, X.509 certificates, and Kerberos v5 via GSSAPI. Ciphers include AES, Twofish, Blowfish, 3DES, and RC4. An optional FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic library is available.
This tool gives you an encrypted Secure Shell session when connecting to Windows, UNIX, and Linux SSH servers, including VanDyke's VShell(R) server. SecureCRT provides versatile solutions for a wide range of business, network management, information security, and development tasks, from accessing host-based applications and administering servers to securely accessing behind-the-firewall network resources like e-mail, files, and printers. Local TCP/IP applications can be rerouted through an encrypted channel between your local machine and an SSH server. For instance, SMTP, POP, and IMAP can be secured with port forwarding.
Extensive emulations include VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Wyse 50/60, Xterm, and Linux console - all with ANSI color. Multibyte character sets are supported for Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, as is support for scalable line-drawing fonts. Secure file transfers can be performed using SFTP, or by using Zmodem, Xmodem, or Ymodem from an SSH1 or SSH2 session. SOCKS and generic firewalls are supported, as well as unauthenticated and basic HTTP proxies, transparent pass-through printing, and ActiveX scripting.
SecureCRT and the SecureFX file transfer client can be integrated, letting you share global and session options and the host-key database so configuring a server connection only needs to be done once. A combined installer is available that installs both clients and their DLLs into the same folder, making it easy to install SecureCRT and SecureFX and keep them in sync.
Version 6.0 delivers new time-saving features including support for moving tabs between windows and a button bar that allows you to map frequently used commands, scripts, and menu functions. An updated user interface provides alpha transparency, Windows display themes, and drag-and-drop customization of the menu and toolbar. Support for installation on U3 smart drives has been added, along with a combined installer for SecureCRT and SecureFX, and MSI support to simplify and automate distribution and installation.
