  • TThe installer includes support for ISDN TA modems, as well as for numerous common and obscure brands of modems.
  • Connects some 56K modems at 53333 bits per second (bps).
  • Helps alleviate involuntary modem hang-ups.
  • Compensates for certain "bugs" in some ISPs V.90 code.

New in version 4.2: The commercial version of 4.2 has had the Apple G3, G4, PowerBook, iMac, iBook scripts re-worked.

There are new scripts for Olitech 56K modems, since CompUSA has started carrying these for Mac. Also, many of the Supra, Zoom, and USR Scripts have had minor improvements. Version 4.2 also has about 50 of the V.90 scripts re-worked to compensate for errors in some ISP's V.90 Code. This will probably be the last major change until and if the author adopts the V.92 Standard.

New in version 4.225: Two scripts tested have a full 6.5 hours of reliability with no random disconnects on an iMac Modem. The test involved successfully uploading Netscape Navigator 4.73 (over 13mb) to a Web space, which took 1 hour, 59 minutes. The rest of the test was spent downloading various files until the test was voluntarily ended at 6.5 hours.

It supports U.S. Robotics 56K modems reliably up to 53333 bps, Supra, Zoom and Global Village V.90 modems reliably up to 52000 bps. All of the V.90 Scripts are one-year newer than those in Mac OS 9.04 or most downloadable Mac modem drivers. New version 4.3 has 32 recently modified Apple, Global Village and Supra Scripts; now supports Kortex 56k, NetComm Roadster 56K modems.

Demo Version 4.31 has seven modem scripts, and all are reduced to 33600 speed. They include a demo V.92/V.44 script for Global Village V.92 modems. The other six demo scripts work with Supra, Zoom, US Robotics Sporster, iMac, G3, G4 modems, again, all with speed reduced to 33600.

New in v4.3.3: Supports U.S. Robotics 56K modems reliably up to 53333 bps, Supra, Zoom and Global Village; V.90 modems reliably up to 52000 bps.
