The game is turn-based, so your opponent does the same, while trying to prevent you from succeeding. This leads to chess-like matches and good wholesome puzzle gaming.

Graphically, I can't see how this could've been done much better. It runs in a convienent little window that is great for multi-tasking. It also has a built-in IRC client, so chatting up a storm is simple. You can view and join current games or create your own.

If you like Chess but you feel that it takes too much thought and time, Metasquarer could be a perfect fit for you.
