The gameplay modes vary from the original gameplay of Breakout to an all new mode called Rubber. Also, there is a multi-player mode that can be played by dividing the joystick, mouse or keyboard for a fun team game.
Break Ball is a great version in single-player. However, due to the lack of LAN and Internet support, sharing a monitor is the only way to play multi-player. This is a large shortcoming due to the increasing network code in many games.
Break Ball is still one of the strongest single-player Breakout games I have played. There are tons of modes, smooth graphics and nice powerups.
