.. you are not sure if you are awake or dreaming?"

The Longest Journey. It's an appropriate name really The full install is two gigabytes. I'm sure that the smaller install options take up considerably less space so if you don't have two gigs free, don't stress.

Got this game into the office yesterday, and Greeb passed it over to me for a review. I'm a bit embarrased to say I'd never even heard of it before, so I checked out the the Web site for the game and saw some of the other reviews. I was shocked to find rave reviews over a game that I'd never even heard of before. I decided to open my mind and try it out.

At first impression, as I said before, the full install takes up two gigs of space on your hard drive. This means that the 4 CD install took about 40 minutes to complete on my P3/550. Once the game was finally done, I dove in and gave it a whirl. It's your not so typical point and click "brain puzzle" sort of game, but it has one of the best storylines and most charming heroines seen to date.

The graphics aren't exactly what I'd hoped for, but they are sufficient for the game and will perform well on slower machines with a bit of tweaking. The sound, however, is pristine. April has a cute enticing voice that'll make you click on her over and over again, just to hear the next cute witty thing she has to say.

The puzzles in the game aren't impossible to figure out, but do require quite a bit of original thinking and problem solving. While you're not led through the game like a dog on a leash, it is necessary to complete some tasks before others. Guiding you along in the storyline of the game are a whole host of NPCs that April interacts with. Gathering as much information as possible from these people will help you find the clues you need to progress through the game.

In brief retrospect, the game requires patience. It's like an excellent story that you get to take part in. It requires time, patience, and an open mind to be sure. Give her a bit of time, and you'll find that April and her story will draw you in and hold you close.

-Michael.
