Pillars of Garendall, though, isn't just a cheap rip-off. While it uses the game formula and mechanics, it has its own personality.
The storyline is something that has been done before, but still, when you are the lone hero trying to save the world, you can get sucked in. It's not exactly that dramatic, but you get the idea.
The game is designed to handle layers that give a three-dimensional feel to a two-dimensional design. It works great, and coupled with the cool music, the game world really comes alive. I know there are people saying that it is "old-looking" and those people might miss out on a game that has a lot of potential.
