BCArchive uses strong symmetric encryption algorithms such as Blowfish, IDEA, Triple-DES and CAST5. It also uses secure hash algorithms such as SHA-1, MD5 and RIPEMD-160. It uses asymmetric public/secret key algorithms such as RSA and ELGamal/Diffie-Hellman. It conforms to specifications PKCS #5, PKCS #12 and X.509.
