I recommend this game to everyone because its a great, fun and interesting game. A game with many servers and lots of stuff to do.

You can do 3 possible things on Starport Galactic Empires

* Invading - You cap other peoples colonies in a ship which you control by going straight into a biodome.

* Building - You can purchase a biodome from one of the main bases and plant it on any planet except Tiny and Gases

This is a really cool game. Iv been playing for years and it has always keep me interested. Most of the players are rather nice and helpful, including the ""Administrator"". There are lots of different gaming mode's that are all a lot of fun. Over all a really good game and hope to see new players.

I've played this game off and on for 6 years and I still enjoy playing. You can build colonies on planets and create a huge empire, and fight other players for dominance by invading colonies. Best part of the game is that the players create their own paths and history.

I'm not sure why there is so many negative comments on this game. I've played for over 6 years and counting. Yes there have been ups and downs, but overall this game is worth playing or trying. You manage your own empire to your liking, you play with who you want to, and you invade/kill people you hate or dislike. Some players are unable to roll with the waves of change and they decide to quit. Toonces is very good at what he does and if I had to put up with all the whiners I would have shot myself by now.

The staff that run this game do a terrible job. They support service never responds to emails, they never issue any in-game warnings or updates other than 20min before the patch, and the game dev ignores everyones input and only likes the few players that spend hundreds weekly on this simple yet unworthy game. If toonces reads this, I want him to understand that users and their input matter. If he wants to make a game that only he likes to play, dont put it online.

Excellent game. It is the best free online space game you can find. You can pay real money for special items, but because the game is 100% skill, it does not automatically mean you will win if you pay real money to get the special stuff. Very fun game as you can build colonies, invade colonies, and fight other npcs and real players. Most fun game i have ever played

I thought the game itself was not bad but the staff running the game don't care much about the people playing the game and treat them like garbage. I was only on the game for a few days and the next thing I know I was banned for no reasion at all. So were alot of people. I tryed to find out why and the next thing I knew I was banned from the fourm all together. No help, no reasion why just kicked out of the game all together. That is not much of a way to treat new player.

I would sure like to know what I did to be treated like that and why they think I am such a terrible person that they had to do that.

WHY WHY WHY banned me!!!!!!! I only had one account, I never talked to other players, and only attacked red named player, none of witch is against the rules. So WHY WHY WHY???????

Let me start out by saying that certain parts of every review below are correct. This game has a great concept, it IS technically "free", it can be fun, and it's very addicting.

That said, I have the feeling that anyone who has written a positive review here has not played the game very long. Once you get over the initial "this game is awesome!" phase, the problems with this game become increasingly evident.

I won't make many comments on the graphics and sound, as some others here have, as I am a firm believer that neither is absolutely necessary to make a good, enjoyable game.

Here are the problems, and they are many.
Like I said above, good game in concept, but elite players/cheaters ruin it for EVERYONE. New servers are started all the time, but these same players kill it off within a few weeks. The admins have no answer for this, and frankly don't seem to care, despite repeated pleas from the community to fix it. Any comments about the game not being fair/balanced are absolutely true. I played this for about a year and did very well with it, but got tired of the idiots who killed vets like myself and newbies alike. Literally weeks of work would be destroyed in a few short hours in most cases.

Herein lies the biggest problem with the game, the elite players are so bent on dominating the game that it makes it impossible for anyone, even other elite players who don't happen to be in the "clic", to even gain a semblance of a foothold. We're literally talking about 10-15 players (I'm not exaggerating) ruining the game for hundreds. Multiple posts made in the Starport forums by many, MANY users often get responses of: "If you don't like getting owned, play something else." Not a sign of a healthy, well balanced game.

The best thing that could happen to this game to make it better? Ban the players who ruin it for everyone else. It's not hard to figure out, and it would only be a handful of players anyway. Games are supposed to be fun, work is not fun. This game IS work. Don't waste your time, play something else.

This is not sour grapes, by the way. I left the game on good terms. I simply got tired of the utter lack of balance and the total absence of community. A community that was quashed by the elite players.

This game costs absolutely NOTHING to play. Don't be fooled by the posts below by players who have been banned for cheating or are eating sour grapes. This is a GREAT, FREE online game - try it out and see!

This game is very addictive and can be fun to play. However, the main creator of the game has a habit of issuing patches that angers the community and usually do something that breaks the game. If you are looking to have your empire wiped out in a matter of days that took you months to create because of a stupid patch, this is the game for you!

This game is not free, to play you musrt purchase upgrades in order to maintain the "in game credit" needed for "rent". I thought "trent" went out with muds in the 90's. Cheating that costs "credits" for other players is encouraged because it generates more cash for the company. There are how to videos about cheating on you-tube. Obviously fair game play or game quality is not a high priotirity for this company. Avoid this game, if you want to play something free. If you have millions to waste on beeing a leet haxorz dewd, this is the game for you.

The player that posted the comment before mine is pretending to be Toonces, the main game dev. Personally, I love SGE. It's the space MMO that I was searching for for over a year, where you can colonize planets and have massive space battles. On top of that, it's free. This is one of my favorite games, and I highly recommend it to anybody that's patient enough to learn how to play a game well.

If you have no wish for good graphics, gameplay, or a nice community headed by administrators that care about you, then this game is for you. By far the biggest waste of time i have ever had.
