This program is inacceptably slow and has a totally insufficient preview. I don't understand why it received a 5 cows rating. The best option on Tucows is Recover My Email, which is very fast, just as reliable and less expensive ($100).
In Detail:
I've tested all PST recover programs on Tucows up to $150. Good programs do a scan within minutes, giving the user an idea of what is left to recover in the PST, even in demo mode. If the user has a license he can then choose what shall be recovered, and normally this takes only a couple of minutes.
Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair has no up-front scan and no options, but repairs the PST right away, and it does this extremely slow. In my case it took 4 hours at 100% CPU load to repair a 500kB file. The speed decreased drastically during the process, with 7 seconds per recovered e-mail at the end. This is a sign of bad programming and an inacceptable lack of scalability. PST files are often 2 GB in size or even above. I don't want to know how long it would take to repair one of those.
I didn't only have to wait 4 hours to see what this program found in my damaged PST but the program also didn't give me a full preview. I couldn't see which contacts and calendar elements were found (only how many) and there was no e-mail text preview. Also there was no summary of how many items were found in total. Altogether highly disappointing results for a $130 program. The developers simply didn't do their homework.
IMHO, here on Tucows, the best value for money is Recover My Email ($100), which has a very fast scan and a detailed preview, even in demo mode. It found just as many items and repaired the same PST in less than 5 minutes. Another 1.7 GB PST-file was repaired in approx. 10 minutes.
Don't waste your time on testing cheaper software (there are some programs ranging from $40 to $90 on Tucows). Most of them couldn't read any damaged PST file (what other purpose does a PST-recover software have?), and those who could had less features or found less items than Recover My Email.

On top of it all: Hit the "Stop" button, and you have to wait another eternity before you get rid of the shit.
