Going online without protection against the latest fast-spreading virus and worms, such as Netsky, Mytob and MyDoom, can result in infections within minutes.

Once infected, the virus will usually attempt to spread itself to your friends, family and associates by accessing your email contacts and networked PCs. The infection may also allow hackers to access files on your PC, use it to launch attacks against other computers and websites or to send mass SPAM email.

That's why PC Tools AntiVirus Free Edition provides world-leading protection, with rapid database updates, OnGuard real-time protection and comprehensive system scanning to ensure your system remains safe and virus free. PC Tools products are trusted and used by millions of people everyday to protect their home and business computers against online threats.

We highly recommend this FREE download.

I downloaded the free version, I'm running XP and the Intelligence Section with Email checking continually caused my emails to hang and not be retrieved. Did not matter what settings itook, the ony way to receive emails was to disable the email guard.

The emailsPCTools was blocking were not spam or virus's justpics from a friend!!

Although I luv their REGCURE product, I have removed the Anti Virus!!

When you clicked on the large PC Tools 5 free antivirus above it took you to PC Tools 6 antivirus yes and that is not free you have to click on the small PC Tools 5 free edition at the very top of the page there must have been a hiccup somewhere in the setting up of the page and then just follow prompts. i have to say i am a very big fan of PC Tools products you should try PC Tools firewall plus and there AML free Registry Cleaner as well all free and they all work exceptionally

I found this product to be a complete disappointment. This is sad because I was looking to change my companies antivirus software from Norton’s.

It would sometimes run and other times just fail to load when windows started. I never knew when it was working or not? At times it just stopped working mid scan or just threw up an error message saying it had encounter a problem and that I should reboot my computer (5 times a day?).

I don't know if it ever actually did find anything?

All in I don't think that it's not worth the $29 even with a free year thrown in!

DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!! I tried the free version and it found items that I could not remove. So I purchased the program. The full version is no better than the free one. I thought this was a good program it seemed to be working great and finding lots of malware and Adware etc... BUT it was not as good as you will be told it is. I had a melt down (well the computer did :))and the shop told me that they had zero information on PC Tools antivirus. I had so many problems on my machine (Even AVG free found more and would actually let me remove) with malware/ adware and viruses that PC Tools missed. It killed my machine. The ONLY positive with PC Tools is they refunded my money. At least they told me they did, haven't seen it yet. Stay away.

ah yess..
worth every thing I paid for it. nothing. found 68 "threats" but refused to 'repair' them unless i paid for the product. Classic scare tactics. Oh and by the way.. I use a newly installed XP to test new software.. nothing else on the disk but what came with my computer when I bought it. i have no way to rate if it actually "stopped" a cyber attack.. and i think NOBODY else does either...

Let me say that I believed that this program would allow me to find and remove spyware. Would give me information as to the exact threat so i could rationally evaluate the threat level posed. Surely, nothing in the pre install hype told me otherwise. It was a total failure along those lines.

I would call this a scare ad... framed as a software tool.

Now that i feel that they lied about what i COULD CHECK.. why should i believe they are telling the truth about stuff i could not check?
