SoftShadow is so quick and easy, you will use it over and over again. Your presentations will look like you spent hours and hours exporting elements to another image editing program.

How does it work? Here are the basics:

  • Select any PowerPoint object and click the SoftShadow button from the toolbar or the pptXTREME pull-down menus. Select your color, offsets, transparency and feather. (Take note of the Save Original check box on the bottom of the dialog.
  • Your selected object is magically exported from PowerPoint, rendered with anti-aliasing (based on the quality level you have chosen) and the shadow setting you have chosen, then re-imported into PowerPoint as a picture. Your new object retains any animation and z-order settings from your original.
  • If you had checked Save Original in the previous step, then the original object(s) you have selected are still there, but hidden from view. This way if your shadow was added to text or a chart (or any object that may require changes in the future) all you have to do is Revert to Original (either from the pull-down menu or by right-clicking on the image). Magically your original object is restored. You may now edit any changes to the original object.
  • When your are done editing it, just click the Quick Shadow button and your shadow (with the same settings) are re-applied.
