I find the trade-off well worth it. In addition to the many recipes the software comes with, you can email recipes and create grocery list very easily.
I also love the fact the program returns recipes for ingredients you have! Some of the ads seem to be relevant to this recipe program. It's a keeper for me.

This is adware. Mind you, I don't mind a few discreetly-placed ads in a quality freeware application, but the word "discreet" does not, by any stretch of the imagination, apply in this case. The first time I opened the software the entire right column was a huge animated, constantly-moving advertisement. It instantly set off vertigo from the inner ear disorder I have, so there was no way I could even look at the program itself. Major fail. I won't be using this one!
